Listing

First public listing of a token on a trading platform.

Beginner-friendly explanation

A listing is when a new token becomes available for buying or selling on a trading platform.

Example:
The ABC token is now listed on Binance: anyone can buy it.

 Intermediate-level insight

The listing marks the start of a token’s official liquidity. Prices can be volatile as supply and demand meet on the secondary market.

Example:
After listing on Coinbase, a token’s price doubles within 24 hours.

 Advanced perspective

Listing is a key valuation event, often preceded by speculative rise ("buy the rumor") and followed by extreme volatility ("sell the news"). Platforms select listings based on strict criteria: quality, volume, compliance.

Example:
Binance announces a listing after analyzing liquidity, KYC/AML compliance, and smart contract audit.
