Sell Wall

Large number of sell orders placed at a specific price creating price resistance.

Beginner-friendly explanation

A sell wall is a large block of sell orders at a certain price that can prevent a crypto’s price from rising. Example: You notice many sell orders at $20,000 for Bitcoin, creating resistance at this level.

 Intermediate-level insight

A sell wall often indicates significant selling pressure at a specific price. It can temporarily halt an uptrend and serves as a technical level monitored by traders. Example: You observe a significant sell wall at $2,500 on ETH and decide to wait until this resistance is overcome before buying.

 Advanced perspective

Sell walls can be tactically used by major players (whales, institutions) to temporarily control prices or induce selling from other traders. Identifying these walls allows anticipating potential price movements and adjusting the trading strategy accordingly. Example: An expert trader monitors a large BTC sell wall to determine if it’s genuine or simply an attempt at price manipulation by a major player.
